The Essex-born 38-year-old, who has personally sold more than £50m of products and services via Social Media is the founder and face of the hugely popular Big Business Events (BBE). Who is Kevin Byrne?
Best known as one of the greatest pioneers of business in the UK, Kevin Bryne is a hugely successful entrepreneur and business management speaker. Kevin’s inspirational journey started with him sleeping in his car to then founding the world’s first online review website and building a business with £2.37 billion GDP. With experience speaking around the world and at the likes of TEDx, Kevin is one of the best business speakers on the circuit. The Chairman and Founder of Checkatrade, which Kevin launched in 1998. Checkatrade is a trade and service providers monitoring service and the first of it’s kind which allowed Kevin’s concept to become one of the most trusted in the field. Generating more than £2.7 billion a year for more than 19,000 companies, Kevin offers audiences insights into his own success.
Where it all began
Starting with just one computer and phone in his bedroom, to employing over two hundred people and gaining more the 1,000,000 website visits per month, Kevin is a true inspiration. Outside of his business he regularly speaks at Churches and religious gatherings along with being an avid charity supporter. Running twelve marathons in twelve months Kevin was awarded in 2015 in recognition for Checkatrade’s large donations to local charities.
Kevin’s contribution to business has been widely noticed by Sussex Business Awards which has led to him achieving four awards: 2011 Sussex Entrepreneur of the Year, 2012 Sussex Businessperson of the Year, 2013 Sussex Company of the Year and 2014 The Greatest Contribution to Sussex Charity award. In 2014 he also won a further two awards, Business of the Year by Gatwick Diamond Awards and The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in innovation. 2014 also saw him named Honorary Local Hero at the Spirit FM Local Hero Awards.
